A Great and Terrible Beauty

Nay, we aren’t horses to be maneuvered.
Nor are prize collections to be displayed.
They who try to contain us,
Are merely afraid.
Afraid of the power within us.
Afraid we might rule them,
Too afraid for the change we may bring about.
They contain us.
Too scared of what we might do to them,
For keeping us in the dark.
In the dark a little too long.
Nay. The times have changed.
We shall not be contained no longer.
We shall rule our lives
Do as we fit to see.
Not blinded by any false promises.
Not made by those who wish to keep us chained.
We shall be free for eternity.

Awesome and abstract. You could make it mean anything - Women/Men, Student/Education "Industry", etc.
